My First Year of Loaning Toby
The First Few Months
The first few months of loaning were really fun.
Lily and Jake were our best friends from the first day of loaning. I soon got used to the routine around the yard and got comfortable with looking after Toby.
I love riding Toby even when he is stubborn!
Outings
I took Toby out to my first show in late May 2019. Together we were placed 3rd and 4th in Working Hunter and although we didn't get placed in show jumping, we still loved it.
He is very good at XC (Cross Country) - it is definitely his favourite discipline.
When we went XC schooling Toby really enjoyed cantering across the fields with Lily & Jake and Rose & George.
I learnt so much too.
Riding - Now
Me and Toby are now really confident and can jump 75cm-80cm together. We have definitely improved our bareback jumping and also our dressage since Jodie gave us our review on the dressage at Christmas.
Covid-19 has stopped our lessons but it has encouraged us to improve our flatwork and our polework together.
We are looking forward to improving our jumping and XC in the future.
Loaning Toby was DEFINITELY the best decision of my life.
